Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop Romaine

Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water. Remove any wilted leaves, and chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Grate Parmesan Cheese

Using a grater, finely grate the Parmesan cheese. Set aside half for the salad and half for the dressing.

  3. 3

    Prepare Optional Proteins

Cook your choice of protein (chicken, shrimp, steak, or salmon) as desired. For chicken, grill until fully cooked. For shrimp, sauté in a pan. For steak, grill or pan-sear to preferred doneness. For salmon, bake or grill until flaky.

Making the Dressing

  1. 4

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, anchovy paste, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 5

    Whisk Until Smooth

Whisk the dressing ingredients together until well combined and smooth. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese reserved for the dressing.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 6

    Combine Salad Ingredients

In a large bowl, add the chopped romaine lettuce, croutons, and the reserved Parmesan cheese. Toss gently to combine.

  2. 7

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the salad and toss until the lettuce and croutons are evenly coated.

  3. 8

    Add Protein (Optional)

If using, slice the cooked protein and place it on top of the salad. Serve immediately.
