Method
Prepare Fruit
- 1
Peel and chop
Peel the banana and break into chunks. If using fresh mango, peel and chop into roughly 1-inch pieces. If using large strawberries, hull and halve them. If using frozen fruit, measure directly from the freezer.
- 2
Measure 1 cup mixed berries and 1 cup chopped mango (or equivalent combination). Place the banana, berries, and mango into the blender jar.
Add Liquids & Sweetener
- 3
Add 3 tablespoons plain yogurt to the blender for creaminess.
- 4
Pour in 1 cup chilled milk and 1/2 cup orange juice. Add 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (more or less to taste). Add 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract if using.
Add Texture & Blend
- 5
Add 6 ice cubes to the blender. If you like a thicker, more nutritious shake, add 1 teaspoon chia seeds.
- 6
Secure the blender lid and start blending on low speed for 10–15 seconds to combine, then increase to high and blend for 30–45 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and frothy. Stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula if needed, then blend another 10–15 seconds.
- 7
Check consistency. If the shake is too thick, add up to 2 additional tablespoons milk and pulse to combine. If too thin, add a few more ice cubes or a small handful of frozen fruit and blend briefly.
Serve & Garnish
- 8
Pour the fruite shake into two chilled glasses (or one large glass).
- 9
Garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh mint and a light sprinkle of chia seeds, if using. Serve immediately with a straw.
