Make the Super Margarita

Combine liquids
In a large cocktail shaker (or a large measuring pitcher if making in batches), pour 12 fl oz blanco tequila, 6 fl oz freshly squeezed lime juice, 3 fl oz orange liqueur, 1 fl oz agave nectar (or simple syrup), and 2 fl oz cold water. If using the optional orange juice, add 2 fl oz now for a fruitier profile.

Sweetness adjustment
Taste a small spoonful of the mixture and adjust sweetness: add extra agave nectar 1/2 fl oz at a time if you like sweeter, or add more lime juice 1/4 fl oz at a time for brighter acidity. Remember that chilling and dilution will slightly mute flavors.
- 5
Shake or stir with ice
Fill the shaker or pitcher with ice (about 3 cups if using a shaker; use the full 6 cups if preparing directly in the pitcher). If using a shaker, shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled. If using a pitcher, stir briskly for 20–30 seconds to chill and slightly dilute the mixture.

If making to share and you prefer a slushy style, blend the liquid with 3–4 cups of ice until smooth and pour into the prepared glasses.
Finishing Touches

Offer extra lime wedges and a small dish of salt for guests to re-rim if desired. Serve with a straw or stirring stick and enjoy responsibly.
