Patty Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Beans
Drain and rinse the canned black beans. In a large mixing bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth, leaving some chunks for texture.
- 2
Mix Ingredients
Add the cooked quinoa, chopped red bell pepper, grated carrot, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, ground oats, cumin powder, salt, and black pepper to the mashed beans. Mix everything together until well combined.
- 3
Form Patties
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty. Ensure that the patties are compact to prevent them from falling apart during grilling.
- 4
Chill Patties
Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up.
