Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Chill glass

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill it.

  2. 2

    Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 1 cup of ice. Pour in 2 oz New Amsterdam Gin, 0.75 oz St. Germain, 0.5 oz triple sec, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 tsp agave nectar.

  3. 3

    Shake

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds until the exterior of the shaker is frosty and the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted.

  4. 4

    Prepare serving glass

If you chilled the glass with ice water, dump the water and add 4 ice cubes to the glass if you prefer the drink on the rocks; otherwise, strain into the chilled coupe or martini glass for a neat cocktail.

  5. 5

    Strain

Using a Hawthorne or fine strainer, double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass to remove ice shards and any pulp from the lemon juice.

Garnish & Finish

  1. 6

Float a thin lemon wheel or half-moon on the surface of the cocktail. If desired, add a small edible flower atop the lemon or a mint sprig alongside it for aroma. Serve immediately.
