Berries

Chocolate & Toppings

Preparation

Berries

1. Prepare berries

Rinse all berries under cold water and drain well. Hull and quarter the strawberries into bite-sized pieces. Pat berries dry gently with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

2. Combine

In a medium mixing bowl, gently toss strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries together so they are evenly distributed. Taste and, if berries are not sweet enough, let them sit 5–10 minutes at room temperature for natural juices to develop.

Chocolate & Toppings

3. Melt chocolate chips (optional)

Place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 15–20 second bursts, stirring between each, until chocolate is just melted and smooth (about 30–60 seconds total). Alternatively, melt over a double boiler. Let cool 1–2 minutes so it’s pourable but not too hot.

4. Dress the berries

Divide the tossed berries into 4 dessert bowls or glasses (about 1 cup of mixed berries per serving). Drizzle approximately 1/2 tablespoon chocolate syrup over the berries in each bowl. If using melted chocolate, spoon about 1 tablespoon melted chocolate over the berries per serving for extra richness.

5. Finish with powdered sugar and whipped cream

Lightly dust the top of each serving with powdered sugar (about 1/4 tablespoon per serving). Top each portion with approximately 3 tablespoons (0.1875 cup) whipped cream, or pipe for a decorative finish.

Garnish & Serve

6. Sprinkle each serving with a few chocolate chips (about 2 tablespoons distributed across 4 servings), and grate a little dark chocolate (about 1/4 teaspoon per serving) or use the finely grated dark chocolate listed. Add a mint leaf to each for color. Serve immediately so whipped cream remains light and berries retain their texture.
