For the Teriyaki Marinade

Method

Preparing the Teriyaki Marinade

  1. 1

    Mix the Marinade

In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sesame oil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the cubed steak in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the teriyaki marinade over the steak, ensuring it’s well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for maximum flavor.

Assembling the Kabobs

  1. 3

    Prepare the Skewers

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning on the grill.

  2. 4

    Skewer the Ingredients

Thread the marinated steak, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and onion pieces onto the skewers, alternating between the steak and vegetables until all ingredients are used.

Cooking the Kabobs

  1. 5

    Grill the Kabobs

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the steak is cooked to your desired doneness and vegetables are tender.

Serving the Dish

  1. 6

    Prepare the Rice

While the kabobs are grilling, prepare the rice according to package instructions.

  2. 7

    Plate the Kabobs

Once cooked, remove the kabobs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve the kabobs over a bed of cooked rice.

  3. 8

    Garnish

Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top of the kabobs for garnish before serving.
