Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the ribeye steak with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Ensure it is evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes until hot.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steak in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Add Rosemary

In the last minute of cooking, add fresh rosemary to the skillet and baste the steak with the juices.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 6

    Boil Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Cook for 15-20 minutes until tender.

  2. 7

    Drain and Mash

Drain the boiled potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash the potatoes using a potato masher until smooth.

  3. 8

    Add Ingredients

Stir in butter, milk, salt, and black pepper into the mashed potatoes until well combined and creamy.

  4. 9

    Serve

Spoon the mashed potatoes onto a plate and serve alongside the sliced ribeye steak.
