In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, pour in the heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.

Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
