Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Penne Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, approximately 10-12 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 2
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside. Reserve a little pasta water for the sauce if needed.
Alfredo Sauce Preparation
- 3
Melt Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Ensure it doesn’t brown.
- 4
- 5
Pour in Heavy Cream
Gradually pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- 6
Incorporate Parmesan Cheese
Slowly whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a splash of reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
- 7
Season the Sauce
Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir to combine.
Combine Pasta and Sauce
- 8
Combine
Add the cooked penne pasta to the Alfredo sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce. Heat for an additional couple of minutes if necessary.

Plate the Pasta
Serve the pasta in bowls. Top with extra grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley for garnish.
