Assembly

Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until combined but do not overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4-inch thick.

Sautéed Mushrooms

  1. 3

    Heat Oil and Butter

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat until melted.

  2. 4

    Cook Mushrooms

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they are browned and tender.

  3. 5

    Add Garlic and Seasoning

Add the minced garlic, salt, and black pepper to the mushrooms. Sauté for another 2-3 minutes until garlic is fragrant.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 6

    Grill or Cook

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  2. 7

    Add Swiss Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty. Cover the grill or skillet to melt the cheese.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Prepare Buns

Toast the burger buns if desired. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun.

  2. 9

    Assemble Burgers

Place the cooked burger patty with melted Swiss cheese on top of the lettuce. Add sautéed mushrooms, a slice of tomato, and mustard or mayonnaise to taste.

  3. 10

    Serve

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately while hot.
