Filet Mignon

Mashed Potatoes

Method

Filet Mignon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the filet mignon from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the filet mignon with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and fresh rosemary on both sides.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the filet mignon and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into equal-sized pieces. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil.

  2. 6

    Cook the Potatoes

Boil the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes or until fork-tender. Drain the water.

  3. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper to the drained potatoes. Mash with a potato masher or a fork until smooth and creamy.

Seasonal Vegetables

  1. 8

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and chop the seasonal vegetables into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 9

    Cook the Vegetables

In a separate skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the vegetables and season with salt and black pepper. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender but still crisp.
