Chicken Tenders
Dipping Sauce (optional)
Method
Preparation of Chicken Tenders
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Cut the chicken breasts into strips, about 1 inch wide. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Dip each chicken strip first into the flour, ensuring it's coated evenly. Shake off any excess flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing the excess to drip off. Finally, coat the chicken in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
Cooking
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread; if it sizzles, the oil is ready.
- 5
Fry the Chicken Tenders
Carefully add the breaded chicken strips to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).
- 6
Drain and Keep Warm
Once cooked, remove the chicken tenders from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Keep warm in a low oven while you fry the remaining strips.
Serving Suggestions
- 7
Serve with Dipping Sauce
Arrange the chicken tenders on a serving platter and serve with your choice of honey mustard, ranch dressing, or BBQ sauce for dipping.
