Method

Preparing the Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare the chicken

Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  2. 2

    Bread the chicken

Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes. Place flour in the first dish, beaten eggs in the second, and breadcrumbs in the third. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in the egg, and then coat with breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Fry the chicken

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken breasts. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Making the Buffalo Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine ingredients

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the hot sauce and garlic powder until well combined and heated through. Remove from heat.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 5

    Toast the bread

In a toaster or on a skillet, lightly toast the sourdough bread until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Slice the tomato and onion

While the bread is toasting, slice the tomato and onion into thin slices.

  3. 7

    Coat the chicken

Once the chicken is fried, dip each piece into the buffalo sauce until well coated.

  4. 8

    Assemble the sandwich

On a slice of toasted sourdough, layer the lettuce, buffalo chicken, sliced tomato, and onion. Top with another slice of toasted bread.
