Method
Chicken Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside.
- 2
Breading Process
Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in egg, and then coat with breadcrumbs until fully covered.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat cooking oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken breasts and fry for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Buffalo Sauce
- 4
Make the Sauce
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the hot sauce and garlic powder. Stir until well combined and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
- 5
Coat the Chicken
Once the chicken is cooked and drained, toss it in the buffalo sauce until evenly coated.
Sandwich Assembly
- 6
Prepare the Vegetables
Wash and slice the lettuce, tomato, and onion. Set aside.
- 7
Assemble the Sandwiches
On your choice of sourdough bread or tomato-basil tortilla, place a layer of lettuce, followed by slices of tomato and onion. Top with the buffalo chicken. Add more buffalo sauce if desired, then close the sandwich or wrap and serve.
