Method

Preparing the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with blackened seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 1 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cooking the Burgers

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you may add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes on the other side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Bleu Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, sprinkle the bleu cheese crumbles on top of each patty and cover to allow the cheese to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare Buns and Toppings

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and prepare the lettuce, tomato, and red onion.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

Once the patties are cooked, place each patty on the bottom half of a bun. Top with lettuce, tomato, red onion, and the top half of the bun.
