Method

Base + Sauce

  1. 1

    preheat

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating. If using a baking sheet, lightly oil it.

  2. 2

    prepare dough

On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll the pizza dough into a 12-inch round (or desired size). For a crispier crust, stretch thin; for thicker, leave slightly thicker edge for the rim.

  3. 3

    oil crust

Brush the outer 1/2-inch rim of the dough lightly with 1 tablespoon olive oil to promote browning and crispness.

  4. 4

    add sauce

Spoon about 1/2 cup of your chosen sauce onto the center of the dough and spread evenly with the back of a spoon, leaving the oiled rim clear.

Cheeses

  1. 5

    cheese layer

Evenly distribute 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella over the sauced surface, leaving the rim exposed. Sprinkle 1/4 cup grated parmesan evenly on top of the mozzarella for added flavor and browning.

Toppings (choose up to 5)

  1. 6

Select up to five toppings from the toppings list. Arrange toppings evenly so each slice gets a balanced amount. Suggested placements: place sliced meats (pepperoni, salami, sausage) directly on top of cheese so they crisp; place vegetables (mushrooms, onions, peppers, spinach) evenly to avoid overcrowding; add delicate herbs like basil after baking to preserve freshness.

  2. 7

If using raw vegetables that release water (mushrooms, spinach), lightly pat them dry with a paper towel before placing to avoid soggy crust. Pre-cook or sauté very wet vegetables briefly if desired — about 2 minutes over medium heat with a pinch of salt.

Bake

  1. 8

Transfer the prepared pizza to the preheated oven. For a pizza stone, slide the dough onto the stone using a peel; for a baking sheet, place the sheet in the oven.

  2. 9

Bake at 475°F (245°C) for 10–14 minutes, rotating once halfway through, until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling and lightly browned. Bake time will vary by oven and dough thickness—watch closely after 8 minutes.

Drizzle / Finish

  1. 10

Remove pizza from oven and transfer to a cutting board. Immediately sprinkle 1/4 tsp sea salt and 1/8 tsp freshly ground black pepper over the hot pizza.

  2. 11

Scatter fresh basil leaves over the pizza if using. Drizzle 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze in a zig-zag pattern across the pizza. If you prefer heat or sweetness, drizzle 1 teaspoon chili oil or hot honey instead or alongside the glaze.

  3. 12

Allow the pizza to rest 2–3 minutes before slicing. Slice into 6–8 slices and serve hot.
