Whiskey & Mixers

Method

Build & Serve

  1. 1

    Chill glass

If desired, chill a rocks glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice and water to cool while you prepare the drink.

  2. 2

    Combine ingredients

In a mixing glass or cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour 2 oz Gentleman Jack, 0.25 oz simple syrup and 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice. If you prefer a slightly longer, lighter drink, include 1 oz club soda later when building in the serving glass.

  3. 3

    Stir or shake

If you want a bright, aerated drink, shake vigorously for about 8–10 seconds, then strain into the serving glass over a large ice cube. For a smoother, clearer cocktail, stir with a bar spoon for 20–30 seconds and then strain over fresh ice.

  4. 4

    Top (optional)

If using club soda, top the strained drink with about 1 oz club soda, gently stir once to combine.

  5. 5

    Garnish & serve

Express the oils of a lemon twist over the glass by holding the twist skin-side down and giving it a quick pinch, then rub the rim with the peel and drop it in (or float a lemon wheel). Serve immediately.
