- 1
Prepare the glass
Choose a rocks glass. Rub a lime wedge around the rim, then dip the rim into a small plate of smoked sea salt so a thin, even coating adheres. Set the glass aside.
- 2
Mix
Fill a mixing glass with plenty of ice. Add 2 oz Casa Dragones Añejo tequila, 0.25 oz agave nectar, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice and 2 dashes orange bitters.
- 3
Stir
Stir the mixture briskly for about 20–30 seconds (about 15–20 full turns) until well chilled and slightly diluted.
- 4
Strain and serve
Place 1–2 large ice cubes into the prepared rocks glass. Strain the chilled cocktail over the ice.
- 5
Garnish
Express the oils of an orange peel by holding it over the drink and giving it a firm twist, then run the peel around the rim and drop it into the glass as garnish.
- 6
Serve immediately and enjoy. The smoked salt rim complements the rich, vanilla and oak characteristics of Casa Dragones Añejo; adjust agave to taste if you prefer a sweeter or drier balance.
