Cocktail
- 1
Chill glass
Place an old-fashioned glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the drink to lightly chill the glass.
- 2
Combine ingredients
In a mixing glass add 2 oz Angel's Envy Rye, 0.75 oz sweet vermouth, 0.25 oz amaro, 2 dashes Angostura bitters, 1 dash orange bitters, and 0.25 oz simple syrup (if using).
- 3
- 4
Prepare serving glass
Dump the ice water from the chilled old-fashioned glass (if used). Place one large clear ice cube or several large ice cubes into the glass.
- 5
Strain
Double-strain or fine-strain the stirred cocktail into the prepared old-fashioned glass over the large ice cube(s) to remove any small ice shards or solids.
- 6
Express orange oil & garnish
Express the oils from an orange peel by holding it over the drink and giving it a firm twist (skin side down) to release the oils onto the surface. Rub the peel around the rim of the glass if desired, then drop the peel into the drink as a garnish.
- 7
Serve immediately. Sip and enjoy the spicy rye character of Angel's Envy balanced by sweet vermouth and a hint of amaro and citrus.
