Prepare the Glass
Rub the rim of a chilled glass with a lime wedge and dip it into coarse salt to coat the rim. Set aside.

Mix the Cocktail
In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice.

Shake
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice or serve straight up, depending on preference.

Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim of the glass.
