Method

Preparing the Baked Potato

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Potato

Wash the russet potato thoroughly under running water. Pat it dry with a kitchen towel.

  3. 3

    Oil and Season

Rub the potato with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, ensuring it is evenly coated.

  4. 4

    Bake

Place the potato directly on the oven rack and bake for approximately 45-60 minutes, or until it is tender when pierced with a fork.

Cooking the Ribeye

  1. 5

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 6

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the ribeye steak with salt and pepper.

  3. 7

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  4. 8

    Cook the Steak

Add the ribeye steak to the hot pan and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  5. 9

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes.

Preparing Seasonal Vegetables

  1. 10

    Prep Asparagus

Wash the asparagus and trim the tough ends.

  2. 11

    Season Vegetables

In a bowl, toss the asparagus with olive oil, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

  3. 12

    Cook Asparagus

In the same skillet used for the steak (add more oil if needed), add the asparagus and sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender.

Serving

  1. 13

    Plate the Dish

On a plate, place the baked potato, add butter on top, slice the ribeye steak, and arrange the asparagus alongside.

  2. 14

    Enjoy Your Meal

Serve immediately and enjoy your perfectly cooked hand-cut ribeye with baked potato and seasonal vegetables.
