Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the dark chocolate and 1 cup of unsalted butter together until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of granulated sugar and 4 large eggs until well combined and slightly frothy.

Combine Mixtures
Add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring until thoroughly combined.

Add Dry Ingredients
Sift in 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 tsp of salt, and 2 tsp of vanilla extract. Mix until just combined.

Bake the Torte
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Make Caramel
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup of granulated sugar, stirring constantly until it turns a golden brown color.

Once the sugar is melted, carefully add 6 tbsp of unsalted butter while stirring until fully melted and combined.

Incorporate Heavy Cream
Slowly pour in 1 cup of heavy cream, continuing to stir until the sauce is smooth and well combined. Allow it to cool slightly before serving.

Plate the Dessert
Slice the cooled chocolate torte and place a slice on each plate. Drizzle with Ghirardelli caramel sauce and serve alongside a scoop of Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream.
