House-made Marinara
Chicken and Toppings
Pasta
Alfredo Sauce
Method
Prepare the Panko Breading
- 1
Set up the breading station
In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour, beaten eggs, and a mixture of panko breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese combined with salt and black pepper.
- 2
Bread the chicken
Coat each chicken breast first in flour, shaking off excess, then dip in the egg, and finally coat in the panko mixture. Press the breadcrumbs onto the chicken to ensure they stick.
Make the Marinara Sauce
- 3
- 4
Add tomatoes and seasonings
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and sugar. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cook the Chicken
- 5
Fry the chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on both sides, approximately 4-5 minutes per side.
- 6
Add cheese and finish baking
Once the chicken is cooked, place slices of provolone cheese on top of each breast. Spoon marinara sauce over the cheese and transfer the skillet to a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Prepare the Alfredo Sauce
- 7
Make the sauce
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- 8
Thicken and season
Add grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper to the cream mixture and stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is thickened.
Cook the Pasta
- 9
Boil water and cook linguini
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add linguini and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 10
Drain and serve
Drain the pasta and toss with some of the Alfredo sauce. Plate the linguini, top with the chicken parmesan, and garnish with fresh chopped basil.
