Method

Prepare Meatballs

  1. 1

    Mix the Meatball Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground pork, veal, beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix with your hands until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Meatballs

Form the mixture into meatballs, approximately 2 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are browned and cooked through.

Prepare Sauce

  1. 4

    Cook the Sauce

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add crushed San Marzano tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assemble and Serve

  1. 5

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the saucepan with the sauce. Gently stir to coat the meatballs in the sauce.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

Transfer the meatballs and sauce to a serving dish. Top with shredded mozzarella, pepperoni slices, and dollops of ricotta cheese.

  3. 7

    Drizzle with Spicy Honey

Before serving, drizzle spicy honey over the top for an extra kick.
