Meatballs

Method

Meatball Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Meatball Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Shape Meatballs

Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Bake Meatballs

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned.

Assemble the Dish

  1. 5

    Prepare the Sauce

In a saucepan, heat the tomato sauce over medium heat until it is warm.

  2. 6

    Layer Ingredients

Once the meatballs are done baking, place them in a baking dish. Pour the warm tomato sauce over the meatballs, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and add pepperoni slices on top.

  3. 7

    Add Ricotta

Dollop ricotta cheese over the top of the meatballs and sauce.

  4. 8

    Drizzle with Honey

Drizzle spicy honey over the assembled dish to add a touch of sweetness and heat.

  5. 9

    Final Bake

Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
