Salad Ingredients

Method

Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Rehydrate the Seaweed

In a bowl, soak the dried wakame seaweed in warm water for about 10 minutes until it expands and softens. Drain and squeeze out excess water, then chop into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Thinly slice the cucumber and carrot into matchsticks. Halve the cherry tomatoes.

  3. 3

    Combine the Salad

In a large mixing bowl, combine the rehydrated seaweed, sliced cucumber, carrot matchsticks, and halved cherry tomatoes.

  4. 4

    Add Sesame Seeds

Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the salad mixture and gently toss to combine.

Dressing Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey (or agave syrup), minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes until well combined. Adjust seasoning with salt to taste.

  2. 6

    Dress the Salad

Pour the dressing over the salad mixture and toss gently to ensure all ingredients are coated with the dressing.

  3. 7

    Chill and Serve

Let the salad sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
