Meatballs

Garlic Basil Oil

Method

Meatballs Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned.

Garlic Basil Oil Preparation

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a small saucepan over low heat, combine olive oil, chopped fresh basil, minced garlic, and salt. Heat gently for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse. Do not let it boil.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare the Roll

Slice the 12-inch seeded roll in half lengthwise and lightly toast it if desired.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread a layer of garlic basil oil on both halves of the roll. Place the cooked meatballs on one half, then top with shredded mozzarella cheese and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.

  3. 7

    Melt the Cheese

Place the assembled sandwich under a broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  4. 8

    Serve

Remove from the oven, slice, and serve warm.
