Cheesesteak Filling

Optional Toppings

Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Slice the Steak

Thinly slice the ribeye steak against the grain. This will help in achieving tender bites in the cheesesteak.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Finely chop the onion and slice the long hot peppers. If you prefer less heat, you can remove the seeds from the peppers.

Cooking the Cheesesteak

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Meat

Add the sliced ribeye to the skillet. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the meat is browned.

  3. 5

    Add Onions and Peppers

Add the chopped onion and sliced long hot peppers to the skillet. Stir and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  4. 6

    Melt the Cheese

Reduce the heat to low, and place the provolone cheese slices over the meat and vegetables. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for about 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 7

    Prepare the Rolls

While the cheese is melting, slice the hoagie rolls open without cutting all the way through.

  2. 8

    Fill the Rolls

Once the cheese is melted, use a spatula to scoop the cheesesteak mixture into each hoagie roll.

  3. 9

    Add Toppings

If desired, spread mayonnaise on the insides of the rolls and drizzle with hot sauce. Garnish with fresh parsley.
