Edamame Ingredients

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Edamame

If using frozen edamame, remove it from the freezer and allow it to thaw slightly while you prepare the water. If using fresh edamame, rinse the pods under cold water to clean them.

  2. 2

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, add 1 tsp of sea salt to the water.

  3. 3

    Cook the Edamame

Carefully add the edamame pods to the boiling water. Allow them to cook for 5-6 minutes (for fresh) or 3-4 minutes (for frozen) until they are tender and bright green.

  4. 4

    Drain and Season

Once cooked, drain the edamame in a colander and return them to the pot. Drizzle 1 tbsp of olive oil over the edamame, then add 1 tsp of garlic powder and black pepper to taste. Toss to combine and coat the edamame evenly.

  5. 5

    Serve

Transfer the seasoned edamame to a serving bowl. Serve warm as a snack or appetizer, enjoying the pods by popping the beans into your mouth.
