Dumpling Dough

Method

Dumpling Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Dumpling Assembly

  1. 3

    Assemble the Dumplings

After resting, divide the dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball). Roll each ball into a thin circle. Place a tablespoon of the chicken filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Steam the Dumplings

Prepare a steamer pot with water and bring it to a boil. Line the steamer basket with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Place the dumplings in the steamer basket, making sure they don’t touch. Cover and steam for about 15-20 minutes, until the chicken is fully cooked and the dough is translucent.
