Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Broccoli Rabe

Trim the ends of the broccoli rabe, then rinse thoroughly under cold water. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and blanch the broccoli rabe for about 2-3 minutes. Remove and immediately place in an ice bath to stop the cooking process. After a few minutes, drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Long Hot Peppers

Wash and dry the long hot peppers. You can either leave them whole or slice them lengthwise. If you prefer them milder, remove the seeds.

  3. 3

    Cook the Sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of oil and cook the Italian sausage links until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Ensure they are cooked through. Remove from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes before slicing them on a diagonal.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Assemble the Dish

In the same skillet used for the sausage, add the blanched broccoli rabe and long hot peppers. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Slice the sausage and add it to the skillet, mixing everything together.

  2. 5

    Add the Whiz Cheese Sauce

Drizzle the whiz cheese sauce over the sausage and vegetable mixture, stirring to combine and heat through for another 2 minutes.

  3. 6

    Finish with Chili Crisp

Transfer the mixture to a serving platter and top with chili crisp, adjusting the amount to your spice preference. Serve hot.
