Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook Edamame

In a pot of boiling salted water, add 2 cups of edamame pods. Boil for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside to cool.

  2. 2

    Prepare Crab Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of cooked and shredded crab meat, 4 oz of softened cream cheese, and 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise. Mix until smooth and well combined.

  3. 3

    Add Seasonings

To the crab mixture, add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix until everything is evenly incorporated.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Combine Edamame and Crab Mixture

Once the edamame has cooled, gently remove the beans from the pods. Add the edamame to the crab mixture and fold gently to combine, being careful not to mash the edamame.

  2. 5

    Garnish

Spoon the crab and edamame mixture into a serving dish. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of chopped green onions and chili flakes to taste for garnish.

  3. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately as a dip with crackers or as a filling for lettuce wraps.
