Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil the Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from the heat and add 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Let the dough cool for a few minutes, then add the 2 eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  1. 4

    Mix the Coating

In a shallow dish, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon. Set aside.

Frying Churros

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a large pot, heat 2 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe the Dough

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch long strips of dough directly into the hot oil.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Coat in Sugar

While still warm, roll the churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
