Pizza Dough

Method

Pizza Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water (about 110°F or 43°C), sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Mix until a dough forms. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 6

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness, typically about 12 inches in diameter.

  3. 7

    Add BBQ Sauce

Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the BBQ sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. 8

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle the shredded gouda cheese over the BBQ sauce. Evenly distribute the shredded roasted chicken and thinly sliced red onion over the cheese.

  5. 9

    Bake Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

  6. 10

    Garnish and Serve

Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven. Sprinkle with fresh chopped cilantro. Let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing and serving.
