    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Baking Pan

Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 3

    Mash the Bananas

In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.

  2. 4

    Combine Wet Ingredients

Add the granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.

  3. 5

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.

  4. 6

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. 7

If using, gently fold in the chopped nuts and/or chocolate chips into the batter.

Baking

  1. 8

    Pour Batter into Pan

Pour the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

  2. 9

Cooling and Serving

  1. 10

    Cool the Bread

Remove the loaf from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
