Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9x5 inch loaf pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Mixing Wet Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Add the buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.

Combining

  1. 4

    Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined; do not overmix.

  2. 5

    Add Optional Add-ins

If desired, fold in chopped nuts, chocolate chips, and/or dried fruits until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Baking

  1. 6

    Fill and Bake

Divide the batter evenly among the three prepared loaf pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  2. 7

    Cool the Loaves

Once baked, remove the loaves from the oven and allow them to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
