Sparkling Water (single serving)
For pitcher service (optional, 6 servings)
Method
Sparkling Water (single serving)
Chill bottle
Ensure the sparkling water bottle is well chilled in the refrigerator (recommended 2–4°C / 36–39°F). Cold sparkling water retains carbonation better and tastes crisp.
Select a clean highball or rocks glass. If you prefer a colder drink with less dilution, pre-chill the glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes.
Add 4 ice cubes to the glass.
Open the bottle carefully to preserve carbonation: twist slowly and avoid shaking. Pour 12 oz of cold sparkling water into the glass over the ice. Pour gently down the side of the glass to minimize foaming.
For pitcher service (optional)
Chill the bottles or cans of sparkling water thoroughly before preparing the pitcher. Use a large pitcher that has been chilled in the refrigerator if possible.
Add 24 ice cubes to the bottom of the pitcher if you want the beverage colder; alternatively, chill glasses and keep ice separate to avoid diluting the whole pitcher too quickly.
Pour 72 oz of cold sparkling water into the pitcher slowly to preserve carbonation. Pour down the side of the pitcher to minimize foaming.
If desired, add 6 lime slices, 6 lemon slices, and 6 mint sprigs to the pitcher for light flavoring and visual appeal. Gently stir once with a long spoon — do not shake or stir vigorously to avoid losing fizz.
Place pitcher on the table and serve immediately into chilled glasses. Add 3–4 ice cubes per glass as preferred.
