Method

Bread Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the foamy yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  6. 6

    Shape the Dough

Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf or divide it into smaller pieces for individual garlic breads.

  7. 7

    Second Rise

Place the shaped dough onto a baking sheet, cover it, and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.

  8. 8

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 9

    Make Garlic Butter

In a bowl, combine softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Baking

  1. 10

    Bake the Bread

Once the dough has risen, bake it in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

  2. 11

    Apply Garlic Butter

Remove the bread from the oven, immediately brush it liberally with the prepared garlic butter.

  3. 12

    Cool and Serve

Let the garlic bread cool slightly before slicing and serving.
