Carbonated Beverages (chilled)

Optional Garnishes & Add-ins

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Chill bottles/cans

Ensure Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, and Ginger Ale are well chilled (ideally 38–45°F / 3–7°C). Chill in refrigerator for several hours or serve over ice if served immediately.

  2. 2

    Prepare glassware

Select three serving glasses. If using ice, add roughly 1/3 to 1 cup of ice cubes to each glass, depending on glass size and preference.

Serving each soda

  1. 3

    Serve Coca-Cola

Open the Coca-Cola and pour 12 fl oz into the first prepared glass over ice if desired. Do not stir. Optionally garnish with a lemon slice on the rim.

  2. 4

    Serve Diet Coke

Open the Diet Coke and pour 12 fl oz into the second prepared glass over ice if desired. Do not stir. Optionally garnish with a lime wedge on the rim.

  3. 5

    Serve Ginger Ale

Open the Ginger Ale and pour 12 fl oz into the third prepared glass over ice if desired. Do not stir. Optionally garnish with a lemon slice or a thin fresh ginger piece for aroma.

Optional adjustments

  1. 6

For a less-cold but still fizzy drink, allow cans/bottles to sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before opening. For a milder carbonation, pour slowly down the side of the glass. For added flavor, squeeze the lime wedge into the Diet Coke or the lemon slice into the Coca-Cola or Ginger Ale.
