Preparation
- 1
Press the Tofu
Wrap the firm tofu in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top to press out excess moisture. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Marinade
In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix well.
- 3
Cut the Tofu
After pressing, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes or slices, depending on preference.
- 4
Coat the Tofu
In a separate bowl, toss the tofu pieces with cornstarch until they are evenly coated.
Cooking
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.
- 6
Cook the Tofu
Add the coated tofu to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
- 7
Add the Marinade
Pour the prepared marinade over the tofu. Stir to coat evenly and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 8
Season
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add chopped green onions and stir to combine.
- 9
Serve
Remove from heat and serve warm as an add-on to your favorite dishes.
