Method

Prepare Lemonade

  1. 1

    Juice the Lemons

Roll the lemons on the countertop to soften them, then cut them in half and juice them into a measuring cup until you have about 1 cup of lemon juice.

  2. 2

    Make Lemon Syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine the 1 cup of lemon juice with 2 cups of granulated sugar and 4 cups of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.

Prepare Tea

  1. 3

    Brew the Tea

In a separate container, steep 4 black tea bags in 4 cups of hot water for about 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.

Mix and Serve

  1. 4

    Combine Mixtures

In a large gallon pitcher, combine the cooled lemon syrup and brewed tea. Stir well to mix.

  2. 5

    Add Cold Water

Add an additional 4 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir to combine.

  3. 6

    Serve Over Ice

Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the lemonade and tea mixture over the ice. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves as desired.
