Meatballs

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Wet your hands with water to prevent sticking and form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

In a skillet, heat a bit of olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Pomodoro Sauce

In a separate saucepan, heat olive oil and add diced onions and garlic. Sauté until onions are translucent. Add crushed tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for 15 minutes.

  5. 5

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Add the cooked meatballs to the pomodoro sauce, coating them well. Let them simmer together for an additional 5 minutes.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with additional grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
