Cake and Soaking Mixture

Method

Preparation and Assembly

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Beat Eggs

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until frothy. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and mix until well combined.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Soaking Mixture

In a bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and heavy cream.

  7. 7

    Soak the Cake

Once the cake has cooled, poke holes all over the top with a fork. Pour the soaking mixture evenly over the cake, allowing it to absorb.

  8. 8

    Prepare the Topping

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.

  9. 9

    Serve

Spread the whipped cream over the soaked cake, sprinkle with ground cinnamon, slice, and serve chilled.
