Bottled Spring Water

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Inspect bottle

Ensure your bottle and cap are clean and sterilized. Rinse with hot water or wash with warm soapy water, then rinse thoroughly. Dry with a clean cloth or let air dry.

  2. 2

    Prepare spring water

If collecting water from a natural spring, collect from a verified safe, potable source following local safety guidance. If using pre-bottled spring water, ensure the seal is intact until use.

Bottling

  1. 3

Place a funnel in the bottle neck if available to avoid spills.

  2. 4

Pour 1 liter of spring water into the clean bottle. Leave a small headspace (about 2–3 cm) at the top to allow for expansion if chilled.

  3. 5

If desired, add 1 lemon slice or 1 mint leaf for a subtle flavor. Do not add both if you prefer strictly pure spring water.

  4. 6

Wipe the bottle rim with a clean cloth, then securely cap the bottle to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination.

Storage & Serving

  1. 7

Chill the bottled spring water in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour for a refreshing temperature, or serve immediately at ambient temperature.

  2. 8

Consume within 48–72 hours if opened and refrigerated. Unopened, store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight; follow any manufacturer recommendations if using commercial bottled water.

  3. 9

When serving, pour into a clean glass. If a garnish was added (lemon or mint), remove before storing long-term to avoid off-flavors; replace garnish each time you serve for best freshness.
