Method

Prepare Glasses & Syrup

  1. 1

Vanilla simple syrup (if not using store-bought)

Combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan. Add 1 tsp pure vanilla extract. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves, about 3–4 minutes. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Strain into a jar and refrigerate. Use 3 tablespoons for this recipe.

  2. 2

If you like a sugared rim: rub an orange wedge around the rim of two serving glasses and dip each rim into coarse sugar. Chill glasses briefly in the freezer while assembling the drink.

Build the Reviva!

  1. 3

Fill two tall glasses evenly with ice cubes (about 1 cup ice per glass).

  2. 4

In a medium mixing pitcher, combine 2 cups cold-brew coffee concentrate, 1 cup fresh orange juice, 3 tablespoons vanilla simple syrup, and 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice. Stir vigorously for 10–15 seconds to integrate flavors and slightly aerate the mixture.

  3. 5

Taste the mixture. If you prefer it more caffeinated, stir in the optional 1 oz espresso or additional cold-brew. If you prefer an alcoholic version, add 1 oz light rum or vodka now and stir once to combine.

  4. 6

Pour the coffee–citrus mixture evenly over the ice in the prepared glasses, filling them about two-thirds of the way.

  5. 7

Top each glass with about 1/2 cup chilled ginger beer (divide the 1 cup between the two glasses). Gently stir once with a bar spoon to integrate the ginger beer without flattening the bubbles.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 8

Float an orange wheel on the top of each glass and tuck a thin slice of candied ginger alongside the wheel. Add two mint sprigs per glass for aroma — clap the mint once between your palms before placing to release oils.

  2. 9

Serve immediately with a straw and a small spoon for the candied ginger. Enjoy the bright, effervescent contrast of citrus and ginger against smooth coffee.
