Toppings

Method

Beef Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined to avoid overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Topping Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare Pastrami

While the patties are cooking, warm the pastrami in a skillet over low heat until heated through, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 5

    Melt the Cheese

Once the patties are almost done, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover with a lid. Allow the cheese to melt for about 1-2 minutes.

  3. 6

    Toast the Buns

While the cheese is melting, split the burger buns and toast them lightly on the grill or in a separate skillet until golden brown.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, spread a layer of mustard. Place the cheesy beef patty on top, followed by the warm pastrami. Add pickles on top to taste and cover with the top half of the bun.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately while hot with your choice of sides.
