Ranch Dressing

Method

Fried Pickles

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the dill pickle slices and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Add Buttermilk

Gradually add the buttermilk to the dry ingredients, stirring until a thick batter forms.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Coat the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.

  6. 6

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully place the coated pickle slices into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. 7

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried pickles from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot.

Ranch Dressing

  1. 8

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 9

    Whisk Together

Whisk all ingredients together until smooth and creamy.

  3. 10

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the ranch dressing for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
