Method
Preparing the Chicken
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine the buttermilk and a pinch of salt. Submerge the chicken breasts in the buttermilk marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Coat the Chicken
Remove the chicken breasts from the buttermilk marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each breast in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Carefully add the coated chicken breasts and fry for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 5
Prepare the Bun
Toast the brioche buns lightly on a skillet or in a toaster until golden brown.
- 6
Add Condiments and Vegetables
Spread 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with a handful of lettuce and a few slices of tomato.
- 7
Add the Chicken
Place the crispy fried chicken breast on top of the vegetables.
- 8
Complete the Sandwich
Top with the other half of the brioche bun. Press down gently and serve immediately.
