Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 wedges to form triangle shapes.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add a few tortilla wedges to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 4

    Drain and Season

Using a slotted spoon, remove the chips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. While still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Chop the Ingredients

Dice the tomatoes, onion, and jalapeño pepper finely. Remove the seeds from the jalapeño if you prefer less heat.

  2. 6

    Mix the Salsa

In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.

  3. 7

    Add Lime and Season

Squeeze the juice of the lime over the salsa mixture and add salt. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

  4. 8

    Let it Rest

Allow the salsa to rest for at least 15 minutes at room temperature to let the flavors meld together.
